$12,500 Grant Donated to Operation Hope

The CBL State Savings Bank Foundation has given $12,500 to Operation Hope to assist with community programs and digital expansion.

Operation Hope is a faith-based ecumenical, 501c3 non-profit, outreach ministry that provides a tremendous number of programs and services for the Spartanburg County District 1 area, including: Food Pantry and Supply Closet, Clothing Closet, Resale Shop, Financial Assistance, Computer Kiosks & Employment Readiness and more.

“We are very grateful and honored to be a recipient of this 2022 CBL State Savings Bank Foundation Grant. This grant is enabling us to improve and expand our website and social media presence which is so vital in today’s world. Operation Hope appreciates the fact that CBL State Savings Bank puts their “boots to the ground,” so to speak, by actively being involved and believing in our community. CBL is a tremendous advocate for the northwest corner of Spartanburg and beyond,” says Susan Tompkins, executive director of Operation Hope.

The continued expansion of the Operation Hope ministry will offer additional resources such as GED-preparedness classes, free tax preparation, classes and support groups. By adding a larger digital reach, the ministry will be able to extend the outreach and others will learn about and be able to utilize the resources they offer to the community.

“The mission of CBL is to support community and to keep the funds operating within the community. With each local grant, we are able to accomplish this mission and offer the best resources possible to our residents,” said CBL CEO & President Jennifer T. Jones. “We proudly stand behind the work of Operation Hope.”
