CBL Foundation Donates $5,000 to Greer Middle College Charter High

CBL Charitable Foundation Donates $5,000 to Greer Middle College Charter High School

The Citizens Building and Loan (CBL) Charitable Foundation has given $5,000 to the Greer Middle College Charter High School towards the New Activity Center scheduled to be completed in December 2019.

“We are beyond grateful for the support of one of our strongest community members, Citizen’s Building and Loan. As a smaller charter school, having a state-of-the-art facility would be unimaginable. But, because of CBL’s generosity, our new athletic facility will finally provide a home for the Blazers to defend against our competitors.” -Luke Hall, Student Body President

Greer Middle College Charter High School is a public charter high school with open enrollment allowing students living within SC to attend with no admission test or tuition cost. GMC ranks as one of the top high schools in Greenville County and across the state. Students can enroll in college while in high school with opportunity to earn an associate’s degree while in high school. As a charter school, GMC receives base per pupal funding and in Jan 2019 approved enrollment increase to support funding of the GMC Activity Center.

“We appreciate the generous contribution from CBL! We are so excited to have a home location for all of our athletic teams! The new gym will continue to grow our community feel and unite Blazers everywhere!”- Kelley Bailey, Athletic Director

“We are so appreciative of CBL’s generosity for the new activity center. As an athlete, having a home court is a dream come true. I can’t wait to see how our teams and students use it!” -Rylie Sargent, Captain of Girl’s Volleyball Team

CBL CEO & President Jennifer T. Jones says, “We know the value of education, community and teamwork. Greer Middle College Charter High School is in need of an activity center to continue to excel and attract more students, and this activity center will not only serve the students of GMC but also the community by providing a place for other organizations to host events. We are excited to be a part.”
